“I strongly believe in developing a therapeutic relationship to help patients to make independent, informed decisions to improve their mental well-being.”
About Dr E Kalyana Rodrigo
I have had an illustrious career in psychiatry as a general adult psychiatrist. I am proud of my career spanning over four decades, and I have had the privilege of serving in many other countries.

Experience
From my early days in Sri Lanka, I contributed to psychiatry services in England, Bermuda, Canberra, and now in Sydney. I am committed to enhancing the well-being of my patients.
Please note: Dr Rodrigo does not diagnose, treat and prescribe for ADHD.

Advanced Training
Since 2007, until I moved to Sydney in 2024, I have been an integral part of the Canberra Health Service as a Senior Staff Specialist. I worked in both inpatient and community settings. I established the only smoking cessation clinic within the Canberra Health Service in September 2015. I enjoy challenges in psychiatry and have a particular interest in sexual dysfunctions, smoking, substance dependence and alcohol abuse, often underrepresented areas of psychiatry.

Career Highlights
Being the inaugural president of the Sri Lanka College of Psychiatry and starting the first state-run residential rehabilitation centre in Sri Lanka are rewarding experiences that highlight my career.

Approch
My approach to patient care is holistic and empathetic as I ensure everyone feels heard, understood, and empowered on their unique journey to well-being.
